Sone Kounphasert

Biography

Sone works in woodcut and textile printing based on traditional Lao patterns (Lai Lao). Her hand-carved blocks, flowers, butterflies, elephants and figures, are used to print fabric, paper and clothing. In her workshops she teaches basic carving and printing techniques, and invites the public to keep Lao cultural heritage alive through contemporary art, creative expression and textile design.
