The festival

The concept

A programme in two parts: an opening week in Luang Prabang, a World Heritage town, then twelve days in the capital, Vientiane. Every creation is designed as an encounter: a French artist, a Lao artist, a shared audience.

The story

Born of decades of cultural cooperation between France and Laos, the festival brings together institutions, artists, schools and residents every year. The 2026 edition is the first to span both Luang Prabang and Vientiane.

Our goals

  • Support French and Lao contemporary creation
  • Encourage co-productions and artist mobility
  • Make culture accessible: most events are free
  • Reach young audiences and schools
  • Promote tangible and intangible heritage
  • Keep the French and Lao languages alive
