With 400 million speakers, French is now the 4th most spoken language in the world. According to two IPSOS surveys commissioned by the Institut français in 2024 and 2025, 85% of respondents have a good image of French, and 73% see it as a useful, forward-looking language. Young people even find it “trendy”. The Institut français is therefore launching #LeFrançaisCestStylé, a worldwide campaign built on a simple conviction: French is a language that matters, opens up horizons and makes sense for younger generations. The hashtag brings together initiatives from all over the world, and the most inventive, funny or unexpected ones are shared by the Institut français. In Vientiane, the Institut français du Laos joins the campaign with a workshop open to all, from 10 to 14 November, 1:30pm to 5pm.
